If you happen to decide on playing for the Horde faction, you will have to choose the race that fits your character. Five main races exist for the Horde faction, namely, Blood Elves, Orcs, Tauren, Undead and Trolls. Each of the races embody definite assets and downsides and it is best to choose well.

Blood Elves – A race sought after for its inherent magical powers. Considered long before as part of the race of High Elves, they have evolved since and had become members of the Horde faction. These elves are best for gamers who opt to combat not with their powers but rather with their minds. The skills known with Blood Elves are the Arcane Torrent, which silences enemies within eight yards, the Mana Tap, which drains the energy of enemies and the ability in reducing the potency of magic spells cast against a group.

Orcs – A very well known race for their fighting abilities. Although they are not be very limber, they are very dependable in the middle of a battle. They have astounding traits like Blood Fury, which increases the effect of an attack on an opponent or slows down opponent’s healing. They also carry the trait of Hardiness which helps in resisting attacks, as well as axe mastery.

Tauren – Taurens are bull-like, powerful creatures much suited for gamers who range from engaging in melee fighting to casting spells. Taurens are sturdy, effective combatants and are at best in battle situations. They carry traits like War Stomp, used to stun their opponents, and Endurance, which helps shield against attacks. This race is great for those who are not pretty much sure where to start as they have ample power to be effective for a new player.

Undead – This race is known as the Forsaken. For the playable character, the Undead are a very powerful bunch of fighters who are also capable of casting spells quite effectively. This race is good for those who choose a combination of fighting skills. They carry traits like the Will of the Forsaken, which keep them from fear, sleep or the inability to become charmed, provided it is activated altogether. Other traits include Shadow Resistance and Underwater Breathing.

Trolls – Presently the only kind of troll that is a playable is the Darkspear Race. They are very dependable in battle situations and a lot of players choose them for their sheer size and amazing power. Racial traits include Beserking, which unleashes an awesome attack on enemies, as well as Regeneration and Beast Slaying.

Once you decide to play in the Horde faction, you need to pass through the levels as quickly as possible. It would be very easy to get stuck while in quests and it could literally take hours or even days to move through the initial levels.
