To explore Northrend is not as simple as it may look given the fact that it is one of the major and most extensive updates to World of Warcraft since it was made. Players wont have enough time to check everything the new continent has and at the same time keep up with their leveling speeds. An alliance leveling guide would be a great addition to consider.

Knowing that Northrend has loads of quests added and a huge area with two starting zones, one would expect leveling through it to require more time and research than it used to be before.

Borean Tundra and Howling Fjord are the two starting zones in Northrend. Starting at each has its own advantages and disadvantages. Howling Fjord requires more time to level up though it is the more technical and inspiring one. Borean Tundra has hubs with faster routes, is easier to navigate and provides a smooth leveling sequence making it a preferred choice over Howling Fjord for leveling.

While Outland was a series of large quest hubs with dozens of quests to complete at once, most of Northrends quests are done in chains that follow a story line. This makes it easier to find them in order, but it also makes Northrend leveling a bit more grueling. To effectively pull it off, you need to spend a bit of time prepping your character for each zone, reading up on the right paths and knowing which NPCs you should be talking to.

One can gain more XP by doing daily quests in Northrend. There is no more any need to grind to raise your level in between quests. Doing daily quests early (near level 72 or a bit more) is not advisable as the yield is little in terms of XP. Keep those if you do not reach level 80 by the time you are at Icecrown Glacier.

Given it is full of new content that can be explored in many new exciting ways, leveling in Northrend will take you more effort and time but, at the same time, will give you more pleasure and fun.
